Blue Lagoon SPA Iceland

What is Blue Lagoon in Iceland?

One of the wonders of Iceland, Blue Lagoon is a Geothermal Spa and a must visit on your Iceland Trip. Geothermal means the internal heat of the earth and some 70 per cent of Iceland’s energy needs are met from geothermal sources.
What makes this Blue Lagoon experience fascinating is the water temperature is much higher (25 to 30 degrees celsius) than the Air temperature which is usually under 5 degrees celsius.
Holidaymakers can take a stroll at leisure or spend a day lazing in the natural hot springs and bathing in geothermal mud believed to revitalise the skin. Towels and robes are available for hire, and each al fresco pool also comes with views of the lava field surrounding the area. The on-site geothermal sauna with a spa offers a wide range of massages and treatments, while unique skincare products can be bought in Blue Lagoon shop.
Pre-booking is required and there is an Admission fee to enter the Blue Lagoon Pool. (There’s no entrance fee if you don’t wish to enter the Pool or SPA)

Blue Lagoon Location

Blue Lagoon Spa Address is 240 Grindavík, Iceland which is between Keflavik International (KEF) Airport and Reykjavik Town Centre. The roads are well sign posted from the airport especially when approaching the main highway. From Reykjavik downtown follow road signs to Grindavik.

If you are travelling by Car, there’s a large car park, with plenty of space, and parking is included in your Blue Lagoon entrance fee. Always check http://safetravel.is/ before leaving in your car.
